Different countries under FireFox and MSIE #812

Strange behaviour with these 2 browsers:

when i am visiting my site with FireFox (3.5) Piwik shows me as a visitor from GERMANY.
Visiting same site with MSIE (8.x) Piwik shows me as a visitor from AUSTRIA (which is the correct value).

Tested under localhost and live site.
But specially under LOCALHOST i am coming from NOWHERE ... means Piwik cannot show me as german or austrian!

If you're using the GeoIP plugin, you have to report problems with it on its trac ticket. #45

Otherwise, the default Piwik installation guesses your country from your browser language defaults -- which varies between browsers.

No, i am using NOT the GeoIP plugin.

So, this means that Piwik takes the country from the browser settings.
Which also means, when i am in England, use there my notebook which has as browser setting 'de-AT' (FF), Piwik reports this as a visitor from Austria.

Correct?

But i have to say: not correct.
Or what do you believe?

If this is true, all Piwik statistics are wrong - you never can trust on the browser settings.

There is no option but using the data delivered by the browser, because it is not possible to detect system information with javascript. All analytic tools have to deal with it.

vipsoft or Blizzz, could you please submit a new FAQ explaining roughly how the country detection works and why people can't expect an accurate result because of browsers limitations. Thanks!
