I have started using Piwik in May of 2014, but noticed that the piwik_archive_ tables go back until 2004_09 - meaning Piwik created tables for every month since 2004_09, which are all complete empty until 2014_01.
This means there are 224 empty tables (2004_09-2013_12 for _blob and _numeric) in my Piwik installation which will never have any data in them. Is this a bug, or can this behavior somehow be changed? Maybe Piwik could notice itself when the oldest entry was made, so no unnecessary tables are created.

Hi @iquito yes it's a bug, I have noticed it before on the demo.piwik.org as well. I guess there is some code path that sometimes will trigger the archiving with an old date, causing this bug. To fix, we could ensure that we don't create archive tables for dates older than the oldest websites in the piwik instance.
