It would make sense to integrate Piwik with Tableau, Chartio, Looker, Periscope, and other data visualization software to give you unique insights into your data.

Yes the VIU Data Studio Connector works with Matomo Cloud version. If you are not able to choose a site from select site tab that is normally because of missing permissions for the API Key to the selected sites.
You can use our Support Form an provide some details so we can check it together.

the landing area you have for the data with Looker Studio is . . . google sheets. This doesn't work for a whole host of reasons.
Can you find out if anyone is working on a direct connector to either Power BI or Tableau?

I can see why some ppl would ask for a connecter to Looker Studio, but i'd also consider this: do you really trust Google to not grab that data? I think it's a lot less likely w GTM based on the nature of the tools, but i'm cautious there too. Part of the whole point of switching to Matomo/Piwik Pro is to get out of the google suite entirely.

Good news: we're waiting for the Matomo connector for Looker Studio be approved by the Looker Studio team hopefully within a few weeks 🎉
