Goal of this ticket is to:

  • display more expressive error message that indicates to user how to solve the issue.
  • add given system check as "optional" to ensure the desired functionality is tested during syscheck

When does error occur?

error occurs In case the zlib extension is not installed, when:

  • installing a plugin from the marketplace will fail with a hard-to-understand error message: Abort pclzip.lib.php : Missing zlib extensions
  • also occurs when running tests with command: piwik/tests/PHPUnit$ phpunit --group Core
