This features is for people that needs to update Piwik "by hand" (no web update)

It would be useful if Piwik had symlinking in mind in its directory structure to make it easier to upgrade and bring easy rollback possibility just by reverting symlinks.

I'm from the TYPO3 world where we're used to have symlinks to source folder and just change symlinks to point to a newer version.

symlinks can be created by sysadmin, I think it's out of scope from piwik point of view to manage this level of details. Thanks for suggestion though!
