Tiny but effective ZEN-Mode for Visitor Log and others #5296
Comments
the branding removement could also be done on other places "global" in Piwik where the domain-part is already removed... |
I'm not sure about 1) because it wouldn't work for all users (some users use several hostnames)
Could you please create new ticket for only 2)? I think this "clever truncation" should apply to all tables automatically, eg. in visitor log, visitor profile, and in Actions reports. |
regarding 1 you are right of course. what do you think of only giving a possibility to remove the "http://www." for domain and only "http://" if a sub-domain is used? Or giving the possibility to choose: I-a) standard (like its now) II) remove everything before the first single "/" III) remove the parts as described in this comment above => I think this would really help for a cleaner look. one addition: In general: do you see this topic as addition for the zen plugin or for standard piwik? |
This sounds good! It's simple and better than alternative with setting. can you please create new ticket for this request? Btw, would this apply to "visitor log" and "visitor profile" only?
To standard PIwik, as much as possible we want to make the default Piwik "Zen" and the goal of the Zen Mode is to push this concept to the top of Zenitude. |
Since there is already ZEN-Mode-Modification going on,
one could also think of simplifying the view on information in
by
simply
removing the domain-part (http://www.mysite.com/) from own URLs
removing "brandings" from titles
(lots of pages have titles always ending with something like
"| MYSITE - your friendly website")
while 1) could be done automatically
for 2) a config field "what to cut" maybe necessary...
What do you think?
