When I click on a column title to change the order of the displayed data it sometimes takes a long time to load the data. There is no visual indicator showing me the UI is waiting for data from the backend which results in believing me the UI is not working, clicking 20 times on the column title etc.

A solution could be for instance to replace the arrow icon with a loading indicator while we are fetching data.
