It would be nice to visualize in one glance, which websites tracking seem to not work.

  • We could for example say that tracking works if there was at least 1 hit in the last 24 hours ? or today only?
  • The icon could be displayed below the name for a given website.
  • If tracking not working, link the icon to a FAQ explaining, or show tooltip with tips on what to check for.
  • The icon URL could maybe be a Controller action that will run the SQL to see if the website has at least a visit? This way the "Manage sites" page is still fast to load and the green icons will take each some milliseconds to load after the initial page is loaded.
    • See similar query in getSitesIdWithVisits()

For this ticket, maybe we could just show, on the "All websites" dashboard, an orange/warning icon, if tracking is not working for a particular website? (ie. not received hits for 24 hours? what rule could we use to accomodate these cases

  • New Site tracking not setup well/
  • Piwik tracking broken only recently/
  • Piwik broken for a few days
and still alert in each case?

Maybe we could also display this Tracker Status icon in the "Websites" edit screen?

What do you think?
