Thoughts?

Only displayed if domain and/or web site hosted by GoDaddy.

I would be tempted to... ;) but not sure if we should do politics within Piwik... very tempting considering how stupid all of this is, and how dangerous it potentially could become... what do you propose exactly?

Looks like GoDaddy withdrew its support. But I was thinking of a page along the lines of systemcheck, displaying a warning, eg "Warning: your domain/web host supports the US SOPA which would threaten the freedom of the Internet, etc."

Piwik has a large user base and Googlejuice . Why not use it for causes? There are lots of way to express an opinion. (Eg blog, install screen) There are also ways users could opt-in to show their support. (Eg display badge on the login screen, sign an online petition with linkback from subdomain.piwik.org.)

They haven't withdrawn their support for SOPA, only their "public support" which is pretty infuriating. See 4th paragraph down:

"Adelman couldnt commit to changing its position on the record in Congress when asked about that, but said Ill take that back to our legislative guys, but I agree thats an important step. But when pressed, he said Were going to step back and let others take leadership roles. He felt that the public statement removing their support would be sufficient for now, though further steps would be considered."
