hi i'm new.
i downloaded and unzipped piwik and attempted installing it on my server.however the tmp folder is empty and i'm not sure how to obtain a non-empty folder.

if anyone could help me out, and the sooner the better, that would be greatly appreciated.

please use forums for support. Tmp should be empty at first, but make sure you give it enough permission. Check: http://piwik.org/docs/installation-optimization
