There are a few more things I found pretty persuasive:

  • "Show the average position in the search engine for each keyword. I know that can hardly be done. But we could check the ranking on demand: the users clicks on the keyword and the rank is checked by doing requests to the search engine. I think most services do it that way, that's why it always takes a long time to complete.
  • "Also interactive clickpath visualization". I think what this user means is my favourite feature of GA: In-page analytics (I won't explain it here, just go and check it out). Think about it, it wouldn't be that hard to do: The metrics per page are already there. Computing the following pages per site isn't that hard to do. We could probably even do that live, becuase we are only interested in one page at a time (and its following pages). Then we only have to open an iframe and add some overlays to it.
  • Users use the dashboard a lot. We could add "more information" links to the widgets that lead to the full reports. This way the reports might be used a bit more frequently.

+1 for third point, a must have: easy to implement, saves time & can promote features.

"Show the average position in the search engine for each keyword.
It is possible to do it for a subset of Google requests. (only google gives this info, and only sometimes). I created a ticket: #2466

In-page analytics: #2465
Great idea. In fact, for the last 3 years I keep saying "not a good idea" to users asking for clickpath visualizations, because I never find this report useful and it requires way too much data. but something like in-page analytics (we need a new name hehe) is truly useful and a great way to visualize data. Plus, we don't need to pre-process the data so it doesn't have much overhead. :)

Users use the dashboard a lot. We could add "more information" links to the widgets that lead to the full reports. This way the reports might be used a bit more frequently.

Cool idea... created ticket: #2467

Btw there is another ticket related to usability: #2097
