Hello,

for a project I need to log custom data and therefor I'm developing my own plugin to do so.
Since I don't want to put the plugin in the path of my Piwik installation, my question is: Can I point the plugins manager to a custom location where the plugin can be found?

Sorry, no.

Why do you want the plugin outside of your Piwik installation? When Piwik auto-updates, it doesn't delete third-party plugins.

I want to ship an customized software with some plugins but if it isn't possible, I'll put them in the installations folder. But thanks anyway. :)

Sounds more like a packaging/distribution issue than a runtime one. Maybe you could look into something like phar.
