Expected Behavior

Clicking on the row evolution icon must always be open the row evolution layer.
Even if I searched in the page report before.

Current Behavior

Sometimes nothing happens when I clicking on the row evolution icon.

Steps to Reproduce (for Bugs)

  1. https://demo.matomo.cloud/index.php?module=CoreHome&action=index&idSite=1&period=day&date=yesterday#?idSite=1&period=day&date=yesterday&segment=&category=General_Actions&subcategory=General_Pages

  2. Hierarchical view must be active

  3. Do a search below, e.g. for scuba
    grafik

  4. Scroll up and click on row evolution icon on the first page (see screenshot)

  5. The icon symbols disappear, but the layer for the row evolution does not open in the most cases.

It doesn't always happen. If the layer opens once on one page link, then it also works on all pages links.

It looks like the icon for the performance report would also be affected in the case of the described error.

Your Environment

  • Matomo Version: 4.3
  • Browser: Firefox 88, Chrome 90
  • Operating System: Windows
  • Screen width: 1600px

@utrautmann confirmed, this is a bug. I also noticed that it works if you load row evolution for a folder after searching. All subsequent attempts to load row evolution then work.

Put specifically, it works in this case:

  1. Search for 'suba'
  2. Load row evolution for a folder row (ie, http://mywebsite.com/some/path/)
  3. Close it, then load row evolutions for individual pages (ie, http://mywebsite.com/some/path/file.html), and they will work.

I confirm this bug. Exists at least since Version 4.1.x. Behavior is somewhat random. Sorry @diosmosis , can not confirm your solution :-/ . Waiting and clicking again fixed it for me sometimes.

Still a problem. User reports to us:
"Row evolutions do not open sometimes, really frustrating and a relevant problem for our clients "
