Using Matomo's content tracking you can currently track either 1) All content impressions or 2) Visible content impressions.

It would be great to be able to track both "all impressions" and "visible impressions". It would allow you to analyze and monitor the viewability-% (or in-view percentage) of a specific content item and to know true click-through-rate of a content piece.
Much like what ad servers like Google DFP (or AdSense) do when tracking banner impressions.

Summary

Add an option to combine the use of trackAllContentImpressions and trackVisibleContentImpressions

Enhance the current reports under Behavior -> Content to include

  • "Impressions"
  • "Visible impressions"
  • "Viewability" (calculated as visible impressions / impressions)
  • "Interaction rate (total)"
  • "Interaction rate (visible)"
