Dear all,
Is there any plans to support ga('send', 'event') and _gaq.push(['_trackEvent', '') for Matomo. Both are Google Analytics trackers. Currently there is an automatic support for the Google Tag Manager data layer, so I was thinking that it may be useful to have one too for legacy GA tracking.
The issue comes when someone is migrating from GA to Matomo and does not want to redo everything.

Thanks for creating the issue @Chardonneaur I suppose that would only apply to events and the default tracking code would still need to be embedded. Also I suppose not all the time this behaviour would be expected so there would probably need to be some call to enable this feature.

As (if I don't make mistake) GA4 will replace all other older GA technologies (and stop support for them), is this topic still relevant? (or must it be closed?)
