Hello everyone,
today, one of my client asked me what /index means within the page url report and how could they exclude it.
It goes back to the following post: https://forum.matomo.org/t/remove-to-url-appended-index/24139.
Google Analytics has a feature for that but I am not sure there is one for Matomo Analytics.
The idea would be to have it within the website management part to list all the home page urls in order to mix them all up into one value /.

You can change the default action name by setting

[General]
action_default_name = "name"

But it might result in unexpected behaviour when setting it so an empty value. The index action might simple disappear in the report when viewing it not flattened.
Also you may need to invalidate an rebuilt all older reports in order to get them updated.
