I would like to add Geolocation to my Matomo instance, but every proposed solution seems to be premium feature.

Do you think it would be a good idea to implement an integration with libloc, a free ip location library ?

Hi,

The maxmind lite geoip database is free as in gratis and https://db-ip.com/db/lite.php (the default) is free as in licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

That said, adding a new provider can always be helpful. If you or someone else wants to create the plugin, you can use those as a reference:

I took a closer look at libloc and while the library seems to be published under the LGPL, I couldn't find a database.
