At the moment the custom dimensions plugin provides two scopes: Visit and Action.
I suggest to add another scope Visitor. This scope would be applied to all actions in current and future visits, until value changes or custom dimension is made inactive. This would be very interesting especially for people that use the UserId functionality.

What do you think?

Thank you for suggesting it. I would also add the necessity to add it at the user level (user id). Because some caracteristics of a given user have to stick to him all his cycle on.

I guess this would more likely be something for a new plugin. We currently do not store any details for a specific visitor or user. All data is either related to an action or a visit.

Those data is based on the last visit or a summary over all visits.
So there can be multiple values per visitor / user, depending how many visits they had. It's not a direct link to the visitor / user
