(In [2955]) fixes #1589 buttons now don't look ugly any more ;)

Steve, please also commit to the 1.0 branch all fixes that you committed to trunk (including this one) that should be in 1.0. Thanks :)

What did you open the branch for?
Aren't you going to merge the branch back to trunk before releasing 1.0?

(In [fixes #1589 - merge 2955) from trunk

SteveG: The 1.0 branch was opened so that development (and potentially unstable features) could continue in trunk.

Matt: I've already been merging Steve's smaller changes into the 1.0 branch.
