The columns in CSV files are separated with a comma. That's no surprise.
In most european countries comma is used as decimal separator and therefore Microsoft Excel is expecting a semicolon as csv separator.

Unlike Libre Office, Microsoft Excel is not asking or detecting the separator, so it's quite complicated for end users to import comma-separated CSV files in european localized Excel versions.

I would love to have an option (radio buttons) on the CSV report generation form to specify, if , or ; should be used as separator.

Maybe an easier and workable solution could be to also offer TSV as attachment to email reports, where TSV is like a CSV file but using Tab character as a separator, would this work @Fensterbank ?

Good point. Yes, I'm pretty sure, that could solve the issue too.

I'm not working at that comany anymore, so this issue is not relevant for me anymore and they would never use that change.
But since that issue is still a problem for localized Excel users, TSV would be a simple fix.
