Hi,

after updating to Matomo 3.7.0 I cannot open the Visitor Profile from the Dashboard any more.
Instead, the following error is displayed: Error: The plugin Goals is not enabled. You can activate the plugin on Settings > Plugins page in Matomo.
Last time I checked, it worked.

Unfortunately I can't tell if the Goals Plugin was enabled before the update (and disabled automatically while updating). After (re)enabling it, the Profile popup works fine.

Not sure, if this is a real issue.

Thanks for your great work.

Kind regards,
Christoph

Hello, sorry for revamping an old issue. in Matomo 3.12.0 looks like Goals plugin dependency is blocking two sensitive features:

  • "visitor profile" inside "visitor log"
  • "Real-Time maps" reports

I think that two plugins can survive without it by simply hiding "Goals" data.
Then the missing plugin shouldn't throw an error stopping the interface by loading like something broke but simply exposing a warning mesage or nothing about Goals at all.

On huge installations Goals maybe are disabled or limited to regular users because of overloads

Plugin developers can easily manage dependency hooking at plugin installation/uninstallation event.
