Under "Goals => Overview" and "Ecommerce => Sales" you can already see reports for Referrer Types, Keywords, Search Engines, ... Device, Location, ...

I think it would be useful to show the same reports eg also under Referrers, Visitors => Device, Visitors => Location, ...

I will mention for now the referrer types but it is the same across devices, locations, ...

So far the referrer types for example are somewhat useful but be much more useful if you where to see all the converted goals and sales under "Referrers => All Referrers" as well. This is likely what you are interested in anyway (how did they actually perform).

So could we maybe put all those goals overview/sales dimensions report also on the other pages?

This would also make it much easier to explain the tool to users. Currently, you can't just say go to "Referrers" to see al the important referrers. You have to explain you need to go to Referrers, then to "Goals => Overview", then to "Ecommerce => Sales" on three different tabs to slowly draw some conclusions from it. Instead it would be much more valuable to have this information on one page.

I would maybe sometimes (rarely) use related reports for this, but more often than not eg for Referrer Types show those reports directly under them. Or we could enhance the currently shown reports and add more metrics to all those reports.

I just discovered again the feature that we can switch the visualization to show "some goals metrics" but it is not available for sales and it is very very hard to discover (too hard). I would have expected to see those metrics directly in the "all columns" view.

The goal / sales information is even more important than the currently shown report most of the times.

@tsteur did you notice that under Acquisition > Channels, you can click on the visualisation icon and select: "Display a table with goal metrics":

Which will show the goal metrics in the report:

Is this what you meant? This could be more clear and visible for sure as it's valuable.

Note:

  • The "Display table with goal metrics" is not the same view as the "Goals > Overview > Goals by Referrers|Goals engagement|Goals by User location|etc." because the "Display table with goal metrics" only shows conversion rate (for each goal) and total revenue (across all goals)
  • whereas the Goals > Overview reports show number of conversions (for each goal), conversion rate (for each goal), revenue (for each goal), revenue per visit (for each goal), total revenue (across all goals)

See description... It should show by default all columns view and including the goal metrics to have all the needed information for example. Showing just the number of visits doesn't help you much and the visualisation change feature is way too hard to discover.

See also #14974 Add Goals visualisation for Pages reports in behaviour category which is similar for different as it concerns only "Behaviour" reports (where we don't currently process goal metrics by page/event/etc.).

Maybe another way to solve this issue could be to:

  1. Move all datatable icons to the top the screen (potentially covered in Search field, and all other green icons should be visible at the top of pages (and sticky when scrolling) #19669)
  2. and make the second icon (visualisation) more visible somehow? (or maybe just specifically the "goals table" icon)
