This worked for me locally and seems suggested by https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Selection/addRange

Looks good, tested on IE10, firefox, chrome & safari. The selection range on safari is a bit off (selects a new line as well), but I don't think that's a big deal. |
