When one tries to update to the latest version, but Matomo has already found an update before, the button to force an update check (via index.php?date=today&module=CoreHome&action=checkForUpdates)is hidden.
So if one can't update to the suggested version (e.g. because it is an broken beta release), there is no way to update to the latest version apart from waiting for the cache to run out. (Or trying to send the POST with the correct auth_token in the developer tools)
