I manually installed latest (3.0.4) and during upgrade it told me a bunch of files should be deleted. I deleted those files and now piwik keeps complaining about missing classes. When i delete the plugins' "PluginsInstalled" line in config.ini.php, the error changes to another plugin.

Why is this happening?

Error always starts out with this and then changes to Events plugin after i disable Referrers plugin:
No entry or class found for 'Piwik\Plugins\Referrers\Menu'
