In our Analytics Glossary, let's add a definition for the metric Hits with generation time

This was requested in an email:

What means the KPI "Hits with generation time"? The description says that it's the number of hits that included generation time information.
Unfortunately this description not helps me further.
Can you say me what means "generation time information"? And for what can I use this information? Which economic use can I get when I improve this KPI?
