it was reported in this forum post that when Mysql is configured with a charset that is not UTF-8 then Piwik will fail to record and display page titles with unicode characters:

question_marks

Steps

  • reproduce issue of setting non utf-8 charset to mysql and seeing question marks
  • how do we detect the current charset DB is configured in?
  • add system check alert when charset is not utf-8

Hi Matt, here I am now, but I am absolutely new of Github, how can I resolve my problem? There is a way to at least temporary let my Piwik Users view the Chinese Page Title?
